CHP plant for palette factory

5MW heat-and-power system

This project is the development of a 5MW Combined-Heat-and-Power plant for a palette factory in the Black Forest (Germany). The system will be fired with wood off-cuts from the palette production. Electricity will be generated by a 900kW module based on the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC).

The plant will generate heat for the factory itself and for the rest of the village, including a hospital, school, town hall and mineral spring. Contracts for the heat supply to consumers are in place. Electricity will be fed into the public grid.

Total project costs are of the order €10 million.
