Radiant ceiling panels save energy

Ceiling panels for both heating and cooling

We undertook the design of several building services (heating, air conditioning and hot/cold water) during the upgrading of a branch of this bank in Germany. The offices and main customer area were previously heated, but not air conditioned. Despite adding a new cooling system, we managed to reduce the overall energy requirements of the climate control installation. This was achieved through the use of ceiling panels, which employ water to cool and heat radiant surfaces; the power of the ventilation system was also reduced by optimising the choice of equipment.

The climate control system employs centrally configured set points for individual offices and meeting rooms; local control allows deviation around the preconfigured set points.
